Stop Motion and CGI Animation

Alright, so basically there are two major types of animation used today.  They are stop motion animation and CGI Animation.  Here, there will be descriptions of both of these, and a video for CGI animation.

Stop Motion- Stop motion is used in a lot of different animations, one of them being the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. Stop motion anmation involves the use of actual objects instead of using drawings of people or the objects. The animator will make the object out of a material like clay, and then take a picture of the object, move it ever so slightly, and then take a picture of it again. This process can go on for as many movemnets, scenes, or pictures you feel like making and taking. When you play back the images of the objects, they will appear to move, to create somewhat fluid movements on screen.

CGI Animation- Otherwise know as computer generated imagery, changed animation forever. This replaced having to actually draw the images with getting to use 3-D modeling to make them instead. Even though CGI animation is more efficient than traditional animation-just drawing the images over and over again until you have the illusion of motion- CGI is still very tiring and somewhat related stilll. to th process of traditional animation. There are two types of CGI animation, 2D animation and 3D animation.     Fact: The first fully computer generate film was Toy Story (produced by Pixar Animation Studios). This was accomplished in 1995.
