Early Animated Films

Steamboat Willie- The earliest form of Mickey Mouse. Written and directed by Walt Disney and Ub Irwerks. Created in 1928, Steamboat Willie was recorded as the first animated film with a comp;ete soundtrack.

Felix the Cat- One of the earliest cartoons, Felix the Cat was a perfect display of early animation. Felix was originally created by Pat Sullivan, but Otto Messmer, Sullivan's lead cartoonist, mostly drew Felix the Cat. This cartoon was created and drawn in the silent film era.

Krazy Kat- Created by George Herriman in 1913. Krazy Kat was comic strip, and it lasted until 1944.

Gertie the Dinosaur- This very early animated film created by Winsor McCay was an instant success and it eventually inspired many cartoonists to give their drawings to life with motion. First film to be created using keyframe animation. Gertie the Dinosaur was created in 1914.
